Check out the discussion section at www.treocentral.com.
I think that the Samsung is still running Palm OS 4.1. The Treo is OS 5.
The Samsung uses only Graffiti for input, the Treo has a thumbboard.
The Samsung seems to be more phone-centric, while the Treo is more like a
PDA, but is very usable as a phone.

I'm on my THIRD Treo 600 since December. The software is apparently quite
buggy, and per a couple Sprint customer service people here in the Seattle
area & one of the customer service people at *2, the Treo 600 is the most
problematic model of phone in Sprint's inventory.

Other than them having the Treo 600's for sale, the problems all seem to
be due to the PalmOne software/hardware developers. The Sprint people I've
dealt with have all been friendly, sympathetic, and exchanged the bad phones
for a brand new one quickly.

My first 600 developed a large colored 'splotch' on the LCD after about 2
months. My second one just simply went crazy after about 2 months -- the
entire unit would just lock up, the phone would ring but not allow me to
answer, and would go into some sort of loop where it'd just keep ringing
(even after the caller was actually dumped into voice mail), & all I could
do to get the ringing to stop would be to do a CPU reset. Then at other
times, the phone portion would show a good, full-scale Sprint signal, but
when I'd try to make a call or when a call was coming in, it'd go into a 'No
Service' mode. This would happen continuously for a day or several days at
a time, then the phone portion of the Treo 600 would work fine for a week or
two, then just go nuts again, sometimes even re-setting itself over & over.

So I'm on my third one in 8 months now, and fully expect this one to go
bad any time. I'm just very thankful that Sprint is good about swapping
'em out for me (I do have insurance, but it hasn't been handled as an
insurance issue yet, always a regular warranty exchange) & that I have the
software to back up all my data & put it (except for the images) onto the
    next one!

I hope that in addition to a couple new features (Bluetooth), the Treo 610
model will also have the bugs worked out.

When the Treo 600 funtions right, it's a great device. I really love
being able to go to any web page & getting a normal (albeit small) screen
image of it. But when it goes bad, it's an embarrassing mess.
