Yes, you do have a chance with the retention folks Rob. Sounds like you can
qualify for the $150 rebates on your two original phones. Check this site to
see if both phones qualify -
http://pcshandsetupgrade.sprint.com/
You need to wrap up the phones and plan details at one time though, as using
the phone rebate will extend your contract for 2 years on each phone.
Give *2 a call, and say "Cancel service" during the voice prompt. When you
get to a live retention rep, don't threaten to cancel. Just tell them that
you are off contract, that you've been looking at the competitor's price and
plans, which are very competitive, that you have been happy with SPCS, and
ask what SPCS can do for you. IOW, go into the conversation with honey,
instead of vinegar.
Here are the details on my last change of plans through the retention dept.
I have a plan where I have 3 phones with 1200 minutes, with F&CA, & PCS2PCS.
N & W start at 8:00 PM. This costs $65/mo. plus tax & surcharges. I also
have a Vision Picture pack on my primary phone, and on my daughter's phone
for an additional $20/mo. plus t & s. Total costs come in at a total just
under $100/mo. (I also had the 7:00 PM N & W option for $5 more, but deleted
that as we just weren't making many calls between 7 PM to 8 PM.)
I kept Vision on the account, as I do occasionally use the camera function
on my phone, and connect to my laptop a few times a month (for short periods
of time), when away from my EL cable connection.
