    i've been w/sprint since '97

i'm on a 2kmin a month free and clear anytime plan

i also use their add-a-phone so my high school aged daughter has a phone

i'm currently at the end of my latest 2 yr cycle

now my 2nd daughter is off to middle school and she needs a phone

(the kids use the phone to stay in touch w/me and the wife on a constant basis.
they call in when they are supposed to...or else! so far, it has never gotten
    past ...or else)

so what is the best deal out there from sprint?

i'd sign for another 2 years if:

i need 3 new phones. all need to have speakerphone capabilities (i've had good
luck w/the sanyos). i don't care about anything else-camera, organizer,
    browser

    i need 2000 anytime minutes

want the price of the 2 add-a-phones rolled into the 2000 min costs

think i have a chance w/the retention folks?

    thanks in advance

    be well

    rob

If you enter into a 2 year Advantage Agreement you will get Sprint PCS
to Sprint PCS free. With the 2000 minute plan the first Add-A-Phone is
free. It is the second that would cost $20. You may qualify for the 18
month, $150 Instant Savings, so if you would be satisfied with their
first 3 lowest cost phones, then you could get three free phones. If
this is really a deal breaker, such that you would actually change
carriers, then maybe they might have some leeway.

Yes, you do have a chance with the retention folks Rob. Sounds like you can
qualify for the $150 rebates on your two original phones. Check this site to
see if both phones qualify - http://pcshandsetupgrade.sprint.com/

You need to wrap up the phones and plan details at one time though, as using
the phone rebate will extend your contract for 2 years on each phone.

Give *2 a call, and say "Cancel service" during the voice prompt. When you
get to a live retention rep, don't threaten to cancel. Just tell them that
you are off contract, that you've been looking at the competitor's price and
plans, which are very competitive, that you have been happy with SPCS, and
ask what SPCS can do for you. IOW, go into the conversation with honey,
    instead of vinegar.

Here are the details on my last change of plans through the retention dept.
    I have a plan where I have 3 phones with 1200 minutes, with F&CA, & PCS2PCS.
    N & W start at 8:00 PM. This costs $65/mo. plus tax & surcharges. I also
have a Vision Picture pack on my primary phone, and on my daughter's phone
for an additional $20/mo. plus t & s. Total costs come in at a total just
    under $100/mo. (I also had the 7:00 PM N & W option for $5 more, but deleted
that as we just weren't making many calls between 7 PM to 8 PM.)

I kept Vision on the account, as I do occasionally use the camera function
on my phone, and connect to my laptop a few times a month (for short periods
of time), when away from my EL cable connection.
