Call record feature on any new phones?

I have a Samsung 8500 that has a one-button record feature, which can be
used to record the callers message, or record a voice memo if I'm not on a
call. This is a handy feature when driving, or whenever a notepad isn't
handy. I find it unbelievable that the newer phones have a zillion features
that I don't want, and they have eliminated the one-button memo feature.
With all the fuss about using a cellphone while you are driving you would
think the manufacturers would be trying to reduce the impact of using a
phone while driving. I guess the marketing surveys showed that people
didn't use or want that feature.
Many of the new phones do have some type of memo record feature, but it may
require 5 to 10 button pushes, and some scrolling through menu lists.....not
condusive to use while trying to drive IMHO.

Anyone know of a PCS phone with a convenient (one-button) call-record
feature?

It looks like you're asking for two different things, a call record and a
memo function --- that said the 7300 has a one button record, and I think my
older 4900 had it too. It doesn't record calls, but it does do memos nicely.
The call record I don't know about.

Yes, I suppose it is two different things, but on my phone the record button
does both things, depending on whether or not the phone is on a call. The
same button also brings up the review menu to listen to the recorded info.
Thanks for the leads.

FWIW, I looked up the Sanyo RL-7300 'redi-link' phone. There is the
capability of recording memos and calls, but the feature is almost a joke
for the following reasons:
1. you have to make a minimum of 7 button-presses, including a scroll, to
record. That is distracting and not convenient. I must say that it is
easier when in speakerphone mode, but I didn't look up the process required
to enter speakerphone mode, since it would be very noisy when driving.
2. you can record up to 12 memos/calls, but the maximum time per memo is
only 18 seconds, which might just be long enough to get a phone number
vocalized, but forget about any directions or instructions.
3. total recording time is a whopping 72 seconds.
Other than these limitations, I liked the look of the phone.

I just got the Samsung i500 and it has the feature you are looking for - one
button records calls or a voice message if you are not on a call.
