A while back, after being tired of dealing with Sprint PCS warranty
replacement issues and getting substandard recondition phones, at the
request of folks here on this NG a little over a year ago I bought a
Sanyo 4900 for myself at Circuit City and bought a 2 year extened
warranty replacement plan. The salesman said basically.. "what ya do
when new phiones come out or just before your plan expires, come in
and get a new phone even if it is'nt broken." I said that seemed wrong
but he assured me it's common practice and that's what all the CC
employees do, I bought it basically though because I was used to the
Sprint replacement phones lasting only a few months, and up to
recently I have'nt needed a replacemnt, but now I do and upon browing
CC's website, I notice they do not carry Spint PCS anymore [or at leat
not that I can find]
So, I suppose I will have to spend the money to buy a new phone. But I
am wondering whats the best way and best place to buy a phone
nowadays? I guess I now what a camera phone and I was thinking of a
Samsung A-680 , but I am open to others.
Any suggestions?

CC may just give you a refund or a credit on the cost of your phone. 12 or
years ago, I had bought a 46" projection TV from them. I kept buying the
extended service contract on it, which paid off nicely as boards would go
out every couple of years. Finally, at the end of 8 or 9 years, the bulbs
went out, which would have necessitated a cost to CC for $1500+ to replace
them. They said it was time to retire that TV and gave me a $2000 credit to
replace the old TV with a new one.
