Cingular also runs legacy TDMA/AMPS networks.
I do see Sprint switching to USCellular, Verizon and Alltel as roaming partners
as more and more analog sites stop being updated, though.

Oh I know that Steve. I was addressing his comments about Verizon being the
best "bar none". Verizon is not the best. It has it's limitations (as I
cited above), like all the other wireless providers ...

Re: SprintPCS still getting bashed?
Does SprintPCS roam on Verizon DIGITAL in areas where there is no SprintPCS
service and there is Verizon digital service? It seems to me that Sprint
should offer roaming agreements with DIGITAL providers and that analog
roaming should be offered as a last resort when there is no available
digital CDMA signal.

Their roaming agreements have traditionally been analog. Many of them probably
still are.
There are older phones whose only network settings are "Sprint only", "Analog
roam" and "Automatic."

Re: SprintPCS still getting bashed?
It also might depend on what the roaming carrier charges for digital
and analog roaming as which is put higher on the prl.

Non answer. As a former SprintPCS employee I can tell you that Sprint
encouraged, and actually gave employees tips and tricks on how to get
illegal immigrants onto the service, using phony SS numbers and the like.
Verizon has never stooped that low for customers, nor can they due to their
more strict credit checks. When I began working for Radio Shack customers
who required $500-$1000 deposits for Verizon would come back approved with
no deposit and at most a $125 ASL with Sprint.
Pathetic.

No, according to facts. Now shut up.

So let's get this straight- you, a self-professed Ivy League grad worked
front-line for Sprint? I think you just tripped yourself up in your lies,
moron.

And went from Sprint to Radio Shack? Wow- you must have flunked out of your
Ivy League school. Of course, the answer is much simpler than that- you
lied. It must suck to have such low self-esteem that you need to make false
claims about yourself.

What facts? You don't know what facts are- your habit of lying shows that.

The point was ... that even though Verizon had a signal in those areas, all
the Verizon AP customers would go to channel B to roam on SPCS to make and
receive calls

Checkmate? Ah, so you don't quote my full statement. You are the one lying
by not providing the full quote. And oh ... by the way, why would I need to
lie? It doesn't affect yours truly as I don't have Verizon ...

As a former Sprint employee I can also say it is a lie - nothing even close
to the OP's claims ever happened.

Yes, I also worked at a pharmacy, and church as a teenager.
You see Scotty, in high school and college menial jobs to gain work
experience and a resume is actually beneficial.

Sprint for 6 months, Radio Shack for a year - all fun times, and learning
experiences.
What's interesting however is how you predictably ignored the point I was
making on Sprint, and instead tried to turn this into some idiotic rant on
my work experience in high school and college. Surely you don't believe
the readers of this newsgroup are as stupid as you are -- or do you?
