I've decided to get the Treos 650 through Sprint.
I definitely need to use it to access my pop3 email from a commercial
website that I run through earthlink.
If it doesn't cost me an arm and a leg I would do some web browsing.
I don't what to do anything that is not within the sprint contract - such as
using it as a modem for my laptop. In fact I want to leave the laptop at
    home.
I have service through Sprint now with a Samsung N240 - 700 minutes appox
    $50.00/mon.
My question is what minimum service I need to get through Sprint to do this?
Also if you know off hand the cost. I go to their web page and quite
    frankly get confused.

    Thanks,
    JW

in order to use the web features on your Treo 650, get a vision plan
from Sprint. That is all you need. I would suggest getting an unlimited
plan if you can swing it.

What's there to be confused about though? All you need is a voice plan,
and a PCS Vision pack for data services. That's a $15 add-on to your
voice plan for unlimited data on the Treo, pretty much the best data
    deal you can get nowadays.

Vision plans for phones and smart phones, like the Treo, are all
    unlimited.

I have a Sanyo 8200 now with a plan that includes unlimited Vision
service (I signed up years ago when Vision first came out). Will I need
to upgrade to the PDA Vision plan if I switch to a PDA phone or can I
just use my existing Vision plan?

You will not need to upgrade your Vision plan unless the new phone you
get has the windoz operating system. Which the Treo does not have.

The PDA plan applies to Windows Mobile devices, but Palm OS devices are
treated as "smart devices" and not PDAs, so you can still use the $15
    Vision plan with them.
