I'm curious: can anybody else report such service? I was offered no
choice, and they made it clear they have no accessories. When I reported this
two years ago in this newsgroup, several others reported the same and the
general consensus was that ERP is a ripoff.

Quite a few folks in the past had reported positive results with using the
ERP. Some folks piped in that they weren't too happy. We did have a nice
long thread where we discussed what the breakoff point was to buy the ERP,
when talking about the original cost on the phone. Consensus was that it was
only worth buying the ERP when the phone cost $400+ and then keeping for
only two years.

Re: equipment protection plan
Yes, the Q phone was a very expensive phone. The insurance replacement
was eventually replaced by an other expensive phone that I bought on
first clearance, plus backups for the phone and for batteries on second
clearance, plus I got a third backup from this news group. I did not
get the insurance because I had those inexpensive backups. My current
phone is a mid level cost phone and if it goes I will resurrect one of
my relics until I scrounge up enough for whatever model then strikes my
fancy, maybe a MultiMedia phone.
