just as an update... i contacted centurytel, my isp, and after a couple days
they said i'd need to contact sprint.

so far sprint left me 2 messages and cancelled the ticket, so i've reopened
another ticket and waiting to see what time of day they call at- hopefully
won't miss their call this time.

still can reliably send and receive messages from my gmail account, just
can't with my isp.
