Sprint Merlin S620 as a modem

Any one have some luck to setup this internet card as modem for data calls?

I can't get the modem setup correctly I think. When I try connect it says
"cannot open port" message. I created the modem like any other but it
appears to not work.

I only need for data call to connect to remote alarm system with my
software.
