Teathering mogul to laptop within a school system for laptop net access

I have meetings, only a few days of the year, where I would really save time
if I could connect to my home school database using an internet connection.
Because of non tech-savy people in the schools I am visiting, I cannot
connect to the net using their systems because they won't know the access
codes to give me. Using bluetooth, or a wireless net connection, is there an
easy way to connect to the net via my sprint mogul, so I could use my laptop
to access the database? I know this must be described, in detail, somewhere
on the net, but I was hoping someone in this newsgroup could point me in the
right direction.
