Sounds like slamming to me. If a Qwest wireless customer
    wanted Sprint they buy it.

Re: Spring PCS to buy all of Qwest Wireless' subscribers

That's not what the article says. Quest would offer wireless under
their name using Sprint PCS service. They would possibly move their
current CDMA customers off the Qwest network and to the SPCS Network for
national coverage still under the QWEST name. SPCS is not buying any of
the QWEST subscribers. Reading comprehension is important to get the
real meaning in a news story.

They have true 2way text messaging. Wonder what sprint would do with 2way
    phones?

It's not up to the customers; it's up to the owners of Qwest and SPrint.

Virgin Mobile uses Sprint's network and they have true SMS. Sprint is
all ready for SMS, they just need to release some phones.

I can read. I just said what would they do with 2way phones that sprint
can't use. Virgin Mobile seems to have 2way phones that are compatible with
sprint, so I guess it isn't a problem

Before you post something, you ought to learn the meaning of the word!

Slamming is not having one company buy another. That's called business
sense. If you haven't noticed, a lot of companies buy each other.
That's how they grow bigger. Slamming is changing your service without
your authorization. Not changing your provider because they were
    bought out.

I'm an employee of Qwest and for me it means the same thing. I won't have
    any
subscribers to serve any longer. As far as I'm concerned... Qwest subs that
    are on
Sprint network ARE Sprint customers. It is simply a matter of who sends out
    bill.
Speaking of "Reading comprehension" Qwest is not *****ed with a w not
a u. And why do you capitalize the whole word?

So much for one number service. It was a dog anyway.

Shut the **** up! I know what the word Slamming means
dumb ass. My employer does it all of the time.

Well.... did the people who bought Qwest wireless service expect
to be on a Sprint network? Maybe people got rid of Sprint because
they didn't like Sprint's QOS. Or for any number of other
reasons chose Qwest wireless. Well now they are going to be
Sprint customers and I don't care who the **** bills them.
It IS a form of slamming.

So I guess old GTE wireless customers were slammed by Bell Atlantic and
Vodaphone when it became Verizon Wireless. Or when Alltel buys out
various smaller companies (like the old SOuthwestco Cellular One
customers), or when Comcast wireless customers were bought out by AT&T
    wireless and Cingular. Right?

I got it right the first time I wrote it. Not living in the Quest
service area, the other QWEST comes quicker to mind.

What I don't understand is what's going to happen to all of Qwest's cell
sites and switches if they're going to use Sprint's network?

Re: Spring PCS to buy all of Qwest Wireless' subscribers

    Now you seem to understand.
A large part of a customers' wireless experience
is how well it works where they use their
cell phones. And when you're moved onto
    another network you've been slammed.
