Rollover minutes

This may be a very stupid question, but here goes. Here in Indiana we
see ad's for Cingular's rollover plans all the time, do you think Sprint
will ever offer this? If they can't do it, does anyone know why? last,
but not least, how would you guys use rollover minutes to your advantage
when your contract ends? Thanks I appreciate any and all feedback

We don't offer 'em, and (from what I hear) we never will. If you're rolling
over minutes every month, wouldn't you rather just drop to a smaller minute
plan? And if you foresee a one-month period where you might go over, like a
family emergency, we don't mind giving out one-time buckets of additional
minutes.

In short, with proper planning, they're unnecessary, and (overall) rarely
actually used. That makes them a significant of added administration and
accounting, for not a whole heck of a lot of gain either for us OR you. Not
really.

I respectfully disagree. I would like to have roll-over minutes with
SprintPCS. Here is my situation - we use about 500-600 min. off our shared
plan with 700 min. I can't really drop down to a smaller plan. A couple of
times a year we go on vacation, and my wife uses the cell a lot to call
family during the vacation - hence we run out of minutes that month.

Now say we had roll-over minutes then we would probably have saved up an
additional 500 min. to use during such vacation periods.

Due to a family emergency I had last year I anticipated that I may go
over my monthly minute plan. Not wanting to change around my whole
service agreement just for a month, I called Sprint asking for one-time
bucket of 60 courtesy minutes for that month.

The representative laughed at me and went on to explain that I had two
options. Either pay the per-minute overage or change my plan (and
extend my contract.) I declined, called to try my luck with another
phone-jockey, and was given the same response.

I could lower my plan easily because of the fact I rarely use all of my
800 AT but it would be a nice option considering that a 500 AT plan with
sprint appears to cost more than a plan with more minutes from Cingular
(not to mention rollover!). Thats why I was wondering

I am a Cingular sales rep, but wouldnt dare carry a Cingular phone
Rollover is a nice feature for free and it seperates Cingular from the
other carriers. It's a big selling point and customers really respond
to it. Cingular's plans are also great, $40 for 600 minutes on GSM,
which Sprint doesn't even come close to. I wish sprint had rollover,
but i have a $40 retention plan that gives me 750 anytime and free
pcs2pcs.

Also with a Cingular plan you unfortunately have to use Cingular phones
and Cingular service, the official cell phone network of hell

Haha! You gotta love it when a rep from a company actually uses
another service and then bashes what they sell. At least he's honest.
Well, honest in here, maybe not when making a sale.

ENCOURAGE us to give out minutes We can't give out many, but up to 120=20
still makes a difference.

My sales manner is brutally honest. That way my customers can't blame me
when they hate the service. The wallpaper on my A500 is Calvin doing
his business on the Cingular symbol, which I got off this forum I
think. My co-workers are big fans

No offense to your collegues (well, maybe a little offense), but you seem to be the only guy over
there who isn't doing people wrong.

Are you starting to feel lonely? I know I would.

I wish they would promote you to national CSR manager or something. But, that might increase
profits ... so i'm sorry to break the news to you, but it aint gonna happen.

Since you do a decent job, i'm surprised they haven't fired you yet.

Sprint has a very low tolerance for competence.

I would love it if he was VP of CS! I think the top management at Sprint
should be forced to eat meals at "Friendly's" every day until they realize
that poor customer service drives away customers. Actually I would just
prefer they be beaten with 2x4's but I'm against unnecessary cruelty to
lower life forms.

My thing with rollover is I payed for my minutes I should get to KEEP
them. But I aint complaining

Actually, I have a way big minute plan. Only on a very few occasions have I ever used all the
minutes. Many times I have used less than half. Why do I keep such a big plan, then? Because
even paying the extra on the plan in the course of a year, it would still be cheaper than if I went
over by 500 minutes in just month (or 250 two months) should I experience a burst of usage which
occasionally happens. And like another user pointed out ... Sprint wouldn't be forgiving or
generous in that event.

So, I pay for "insurance". That's why when people yap about WLNP "cost recovery", I can't help but
chuckle. I'm already paying for more minutes than I use, and being that they start charging from
the moment you press "send", a 50 second conversation or voicemail check uses two plan minutes.
They have so many "cost revocery" methods in place that it would probably be considered a
fraudulent business practice in any other industry. When companies can redefine the length of
something so finite as a length of time, things have gotten out of hand. Even the shoddy long
distance carriers round to something like 6 seconds.

It would be really nice to roll over some minutes (even half would be a respectable gesture) for
those months when usage spikes for whatever reason ... but unused minutes are way to profitable for
most carriers to even think about.

Even rolling over the fractional minutes when you make a 2:01 call and giving you the other 1
minute which you really *should* have would be nice.

Ain't gonna happen either.

Time flies like an arrow. You didn't pay for minutes, you paid for
scheduled minutes.
