I played around a little bit this week and found a Mac user that was using
pop3 to retrieve it so I expanded on that since I like to use IMAP4 instead
of pop3. As this Mac enthusiast pointed out, you need to go log on at
http://www.sprintpcs.com with your phone number and master password then
click on the email link under "My Planner" and then click on "Settings &
Preferences" and then click on the "Setup" tab and give yourself a new
password as the master password does not seem to work retrieving email from
a pop or imap email client. This does not affect logging in via a web
browser to do anything in any way.

The servers are as follows: For pop3 pop.sprintpcs.com
    For IMAP4 imap.sprintpcs.com
    For outgoing smtp.sprintpcs.com

In imap, I had to click the "show all folders" the first time but once they
have been accessed via an email client, then you can click on "show only
subscribed folders" I have used Netscape 7.1, Outlook Express and Kmail.
The latter in Linux and Netscape 7.1 mail on all my OS's and no problems.
If you use Sprint as the outgoing server, you need authentication for
outgoing as well. Kudos to them for not being an open relay like some
careless isp's. For those who do not know, IMAP stores the folders on the
server and whatever is in your inbox, will be seen on any computer or email
client you access it with and will be there if you log into the website and
check your inbox there. The webmail acesses the same folders as imap. I
dragged and dropped a message from another email account into my sprint pcs
inbox and logged into the website and there it was. I love IMAP!

I wasn't sure if this had been covered before but I thought I'd share it
    with all of you!

Re: Using your Sprint PCS email account in your PC.

    Dave,

thank you so much for posting these instructions. I found it to be very
helpful, and now I can make use of my SprintPCS mail account. I was not
using it since I was unable to check it from Outlook.

    thanks again.
