Wow, only the second? I've lost count.

He does, anyone can see that... do a Deja search. Chuck Adams is an
avowed troll with a vendetta not just against Sprint, but a myriad of
    different groups.

For the record, I've visted manhattan on occasion and have not had
coverage problems, beyond of course no service in the subways and the
PATH lines beyond Journal Square, when they go underground. NJ is good
save for the Princeton area, but that has improved as of late.

I know last year, service sucked big time in Greenwich (to Sprint's defense
though, I had an LG 1010.....but I did also have a A460......and I would get
many dropped calls/low signal). And Greenwich, CT isn't exactly the last
place I'd expect to get a no signal........

I know Verizon is building a new tower inside a church stepal in North
Grennwich that should help out the low signal areas. When I had Sprint (verizon
now) I was on roam 75% of the time until I got close to North Castle, NY or
close to the Parkway. Its tuff to build towers in that area due to the million
dollar estates and the owners really don't care about a extra few thousand to
build a tower on there land.

Bull****. He was dead on accurate. Sprint service sucks in NYC.
Definately indoors. Dropped calls and faded signals galore, even with
    a Sanyo. Please

Why in the world would so many people, when asked this question,
volunteer that their service is good to excellent? What would they gain?
Could their service be that much better than everyone else's? Divine
    intervention? Are they specially blessed?

There's nothing about my circumstances that particularly suggests I
lead a charmed life. So I walk around, I make calls whenever I want, I
receive calls wherever I am, they don't drop. I go all over Manhattan,
occasionally to Bklyn and Queens, and occasionally upstate. I also travel
to major cities around the country. I am rarely, in all my travels,
    frustrated by lack of signal.

Yes, deep inside some office buildings I lose signal. That is
acknowledged. Yet I'm often surprised that I have signal inside some
high-rise buildings. Yes, sometimes I have to speak up or repeat myself if
there's a lot of ambient noise, but I don't know anyone on any system who
can honestly say that their cell connection duplicates a land connection.

So it's a mixed bag. Not perfect. That's the answer.

But you're saying it SUCKS, it's a DISASTER. How can this
    discrepancy be explained?

That's my whole point, start to finish.

    Money.

Deep my ass. Just walk into the lobby.

You see, I try to avoid disrespecting people, but this is the sort
of thing that would mark an individual as a CRANK.

If I say that the Ford Taurus (for example) doesn't have as high a
safety rating as some other automobiles, that's a reasonable, measured
statement. If I say "drive a Ford Taurus and you'll die", I'm just a crank.

Anyone who's ever used a Sprint phone in NYC knows that under most
ordinary circumstances, you can walk into the lobby of a building and send
and receive calls _just fine_. People who don't have any agenda have
already said that Sprint doesn't have as good a record on holding signal
    inside high-rise buildings.

And the notion that Sprint employees get some benefit from coming
on here to troll is laughable. It's not effective. They have better things
to do. It would be a waste of time and money. And if such payment programs
existed why would anyone think you're not on one? And if you were, wouldn't
    that undermine your claims?

    Sheesh.

True. Very valid points. I should have stressed that it was based on
my own personal experience of the service. To be fair, I have read
many threads on how people are very satified with their service from
other parts of the country. Unfortunately for me, Sprint just doesn't
cut it. I have had luck with a Sanyo 4700. Forget about Samsung.

I have had services in the past yrs with all carriers(Nextel, Omnipoint,
Voicestream, AT&T, Verizon, Cingular) and by far i still find SPrint is
above most of the carriers out there. Verizon is the only carrier i
would use if not Sprint in NYC metro area. I just switched over from
Cingular which is basically T-Mobile( they share the same towers in NYC
metro area) and by far my new Samsung A-600 is way better. It works in
the rainy weather which i cant say for Cingular because everytime it
rains here i dont get calls/poor reception.

I live in Staten Island NewYork and I cummute everyday I have a Samsung
a500 I have no complaints only on the Ferry that I travel on every
morning I will have a signal all the way from Staten Island only when I
approach Mahattan my signal starts to either fades or I get a drop call
and also on the subway but thats nothing to me I love the service I
have been with SprintPCS since 1998 the service has gotten much much
better I get a full signal in my house where as in recent years I would
have to beg for a signal so don't fret you will be fine SprintPCS is a
    great carrier.

During last few months, service has degraded on the North side of the
    Queensboro Bridge in L.I.C.

This could be due to new businesses moving into area and those
    workers/visitors needing service.

Met Life recently moved some staff here.
