USA pre-paid sim

Hi,

I did read Lena's advices to obtain a good prepaid service in U.S.A., but
there are left some new question:

1 - If i buy a ecallplus kit they send me a sim card to insert in my cell.
or send me just an activation code in e-mail?

2 - If they don't send me a sim card do i have to buy one from other network
provider?

3 - I' ll live in N.Y. city is ecallplus good anyway?

4 - In one of the dozen sites i'm browsing is written that with At&T
prepaid-offer you pay not just when you call but also when you recive a
call: is it so with every pre-pasi offer (t-mobile, verizone etc.)? Is it so
with ecallplus?

5 - Are there some other good company that works within New York city?

6 - What do you think about this offer?
http://www.travelsimusa.com/products.html

I'm form Italy and in my country there are 3 national operator, and the 70%
of the 40 million cell. phones has a pprepaid contract, so for me is it very
strange that the most technological advanced country has just monthly
subscriptions for wireless phone.

Hope someone can help me

Sincerelly

Re: USA pre-paid sim

I just activated a phone for emergency purposes using ecallplus - so can
answer your questions!
Hi,

I did read Lena's advices to obtain a good prepaid service in U.S.A., but
there are left some new question:

1 - If i buy a ecallplus kit they send me a sim card to insert in my cell.
or send me just an activation code in e-mail? They email you the pin # if
you activate a phone on their list - I believe it should be an AT&T phone

2 - If they don't send me a sim card do i have to buy one from other network
provider? - ecallplus sells their cards only as far as I know

3 - I' ll live in N.Y. city is ecallplus good anyway? - yes it doesn't
matter where you live - if you can't connect on an AT&T network you roam -
thus the 100 minutes you get are good for anywhere you call to or from -
including calling to several foreign countries

4 - In one of the dozen sites i'm browsing is written that with At&T
prepaid-offer you pay not just when you call but also when you recive a
call: is it so with every pre-pasi offer (t-mobile, verizone etc.)? Is it so
with ecallplus? yes your minutes are used if you make or receive calls

5 - Are there some other good company that works within New York city? -
don't know

6 - What do you think about this offer?
http://www.travelsimusa.com/products.html - don't know

Hope someone can help me - you might want to buy a cheap phone on eBay - for
example I got a Nokia 5165 for $5 - then activated it on ecallplus.com for
$25 and have 100 minutes to use for 90 days. However, keep in mind when you
buy more minutes they vary in price depending how many you buy. The nice
part is unused minutes roll over if you buy more minutes before your 90 day
period is up - all these questions are answered on
ttp://www.ecallplus.com - I have Sprint and did not want the expense of a
2nd line for my husband who seldom uses a phone. DonnaB

Re: USA pre-paid sim

Hi Donna,

Thank you for the reply, but i have just another question, if you please:

The phone tdma (like Nokia 6165) doesn't need to have a sim card, but it is
activated by the network carrier, is it right? So your cell. works just with
ecallplus company and you don't need to lean to others company like T-Mobile
or At&T, correct?

Ah, another little question: with ecallplus do you pay the incoming call too
or you pay just the call you make?

Thank you very much

Ecallplus http://www.ecallplus.com works with AT&T phones and uses AT&T as
their provider. However, if you are in an area where AT&T is not available -
it will roam - in other words your call will be picked up by the carrier it
can use. Therefore, if you sign up like I did getting the starter kit for a
phone on their list - you get 100 minutes to use to make OR receive calls -
people calling you will use up your 100 minutes. Go to their website
because you can also email them any question you have - they are very, very
helpful! I personally think it's a deal for people who only need a phone
for emergencies or who seldom make or receive calls. I actually gave a
phone I activated as a gift to a friend who uses it to call Japan! DonnaB

Re: Re: USA pre-paid sim

That plan that you pointed out is interesting the free incoming calls is
a great deal and you only need to Re up every 60 days and there are ten
dollars prepaid cards so you can have unlimited incoming calls for 5.00
per month I have not read the fine print but so far i think its one of
the best prepaid plans
