I just got my a460 today. When i went into test mode on the display
model, and told it to do cmda/800 it didn't work, and then when I set
it back to SprintPCS it still didn't work.

Does anyone know how to switch back and forth without screwing the
phone up? If I am roaming I would like to be able to lock into CDMA
    if I could.

    Thanks,

The A500 and A460 get really screwed up when you force them into CDMA
Only mode. I would not advise doing it. It was fixed in the newer
    A600 & A620 though.

Thanks, I found that out the hard way...

I see the A600 on sprint's web site to buy, but I don't see the A620.
    Is it still available?

P.S. I wrote Samsung to ask if they had a fix for the phone bombing
out after going into CDMA mode. That is probably a dead-end but what
    the heck.

I don't have any trouble with my A500. The only thing I had to do was wait
for it to find a digital signal and make a call quick so that it would
stick. You can hang up as soon as you hear a ring (to avoid charges). If I
don't do this, my phone will continue on to choose analong. Once it has
worked, I can roam freely between PCS, Cellular CDMA and Cellular AMPS and
it will always favor a signal in the respective order. BTW, I am using
    software version WD29.

It has been renamed the VGA1000.
