Two weeks ago I talked Sprint into a $75 discount on a new LG1200 phone.

I had to agree to a 1 year agreement, but hey, I like the phone.

Got my bill today, it's an extra $10.00 + $1.97 extra tax ($11.97).
For 4 years they have been rebating the $10.00 for the 1250 night minutes.
They told me it was part of my plan, and would last as long as my plan.
Now they took it away, and it resulted in the extra tax.

I didn't change my plan, I just agreed to the 1 year contract.
They might have made a mistake.
But if they actually did change my plan, I should be able to cancel the
    contract, right?

    It's after 5:00PM, so I won't call til tomorrow.
Better chance of getting a rep who can fix things.

I hope so, I have been very satisfied with Sprint so far.
But I'm not about to pay an extra $134.64 every year to get a one-time
    $70.00 discount.

John, try calling them right now ... They've got service centers all over
the country. As to your $10.00 discount, I remember when SPCS was offering
that. Way back then, SPCS just had their plans without contracts, but if one
wanted to be on a contract, they would cut the plan by $10.

As you didn't change plans, you should still be eligible for that credit ...
If the rep says they can't do it, becasue that old plan is no longer on the
system, ask them whether they can give you a credit for the additional
annual costs in a lump sum.

    Bob,

Your idea about requesting the additional credit is a good one.
But, I will wait til tomorrow to call.
I've worked in Call Centers for eight years.
If you want someting even a little out of the norm, call before 4:30PM
    Eastern time.

Who knows? I was "given" a free month of voice command to "try out", which
I didn't ask for, during one of my calls to *2 during August. I was charged
for voice service on both the phones on this last bill I received.
Obviously, their sole intention was to force me to opt out of the service
before the month ended (which it still hasn't, and my account is cancelled).
Hopefully, I would forget to opt out and they could continue to charge me
for something I never requested to begin with. Good luck.

    Justin
