Re: sending "one way" text message from phone?

No Sprint PCS Wireless Web phones have been able to *send* *Text
Messages*. They can send Short Mail and E-mail.

I don't know about the old 2G phones, but Vision phones can send them
    with SendNote.

What Sprint phone did that? I don't ever recall one being able to send
a true SMS. Before Vision, I had to use the wireless web on the older
2G phones to send text messages.

You're right, Sprint never had true SMS. The Wireless Web let you send
Shortmail, but I don't think there was a way to send one-way text
messages. You can do it with SendNote on a Vision phone, but I don't
think there was a way with 2G phones.
