You *sure*?! I swear I remember being on a long long-distance call to TX
as I drove thru that area on my way to Sac for Thanksgiving.

505 (from 80 at Vacaville to 5 at Dunnigan) is shown as not covered and
it isn't. We drive that way from SF to Chico a couple of times a year,
last time in the spring. The signal is weak at the south end and then
disappears as you head north. You get coverage again when you rejoin 5.

OK here's the Good and Bad news.... The GOOD news is that the route 76
from I-5 to I-15 is now solid as it was previously suggested..... the BAD
news, I had to drive into hot Temecula to find that out <grin>. So coverage
    is getting better.

Waahhhh. I guarantee it's hotter in the Victor Valley. (Highs in
the 90's are *cool* for us here in August.)

In case you're interested Sprint just landed a deal to place a new tower
in Oceanside at Martin Luther King, Jr. Park. It will probably be
completed by about January or February of 2004.

Dude, what is it with people on the newsgroups - another regular in one
of my other favorite newsgroups is from Oceanside.

Beach? *shrug* I lived in Mentor On the Lake, Ohio, on the south shore of
one of the largest bodies of fresh water in North America (Lake Erie).
There were two small public beaches within two minutes walking distance of
my house, there was a private beach at the end of my street, and there were
a number of larger beaches within easy driving distance.

No surf, but if I cared about surf, I'd have moved to California a long
    time ago.

Besides, my wife is from Apple Valley.
