As long as you're activating a new line of service, a new phone number, you
get the rebate. Like you said, it may be mail-in, but you get it
nonetheless. If you wheedle the store staff enough, they'll probably let
you have it on both lines right there, but no promise. But, looking at the
text, I think what the web site means is that you get the mail-in rebate if
you're buying the phone for a pre-existing line of service. A phone number
already active with us. Oh, and ClearPay customers may get the same after
60 days of service. Here's what I saw:

This special offer ends September 28, 2003. Instant savings available to
customers adding a new line of service on a PCS Free & Clear Plan with
Vision. Requires a two-year PCS Advantage Agreement. Customers purchasing a
phone without a PCS Free & Clear Plan will receive a mail-in rebate.

Looks to me like you get mail-in rebate for activating the phone on a line
you already have with us.

We have a service, Business Connection Personal Edition, that may work for
you if you have Outlook or Lotus Notes at work. It's included in the
Professional Pack, or $5/month on its own, with a 2-month free trial.
Basically, you sign up for the service, download and install a free software
client to your work PC, run it and your email at the same time, and then use
BCPE on your phone. Yes, your work PC has to be running, and both
Outlook/Lotus Notes and the BCPE software client have to be running in order
for this to work. The client (so I'm told) establishes a secure connection
to Sprint-secured servers, and then your phone also connects to those
servers when you sign into BCPE on your phone.
Since you're getting a camera phone, you probably want to go with the
Pictures Pack, and then opt for BCPE as an additional option for two months
free to see if it'll work for you.

C. Actually, Vision is a seperate add-on service that simply changes how
you get billed. Your phone's Vision capabilities are not disabled if you
opt out of it. Without a pack, though, you get charged based on the amount
of data transmitted to and from your phone: 1¢/KB. Not much unless you move
it up to MB, where it becomes $10 per. If BCPE works for you, you
DEFINITELY want a Vision pack to go with it. Oh, and since you have a
camera phone, if you share your pictures via our service, then you get
charged for the bandwidth users take up looking at/downloading your shared
pictures, too. If you don't have a Vision pack on your plan, that is.
An add-on like that does NOT influence your contract. Period. No matter
how many times you add it or remove it. It may not give you the 2-months
free every time, but it will not force any contract renewals, either.
