To force the Samsung A500 to use digital(
CDMA) mode **ONLY**
instead of analog mode while roaming :
1) Place the A500 into the Automatic Mode
2) Input via the keys for the Debug Menu: 0 1 0
3) Then key-in special code: 0 4 0 7 9 3
4) Next select for
CDMA Only: 3
That's it!
While in the Automatic mode your A500 will ONLY select the
CDMA digital mode for roaming such as via Alltel or Verizon
depending as to your specific at-the-moment location.
To reset the A500 back to the "normal" roaming methods,
merely power the phone off, then power it on again.
