"BLUETOOTH IS TOO SLOW TO USE FOR INTENET CONNECTIONS. No one uses
InfraRed for internet connections. Its too slow for that also."

BT has a data speed of 1 to 2 mbps.

Vision has a data speed of 144 kbps.

Now think about that for a second.

Even a good DSL connection would be 640 kbps - slower than BT.

Dang! And I bought a 2003 Acura TL.
Do you suppose they've got a retention department that'll give me the =
    upgrade?
I'd even agree to keep my TL for another two years.

You're kidding, right? PCS Vision typically runs at (according to
Sprint) 50-70Kbps, peaking at 144Kbps. Bluetooth runs at 800+ Kbps. You
do the math -- in such a case, Bluetooth is *not* the bottleneck.

The idea behind not using blue tooth is simple. in the fine print it
says that vision is not to be used as a modem for another device. Until
the automotive industry makes cars bluetooth instead of onstar don't
expect to see any bluetooth phones. I know the guy who looked into it
    for sprint. Trust me.

    Re: Sprint Bluetooth Phones

blue tooth can do a lot more than wireless internet and hands free. i
can theoretically monitor your car on your phone, the could also track
the car via the phone and its gps, it could call 911 in case of
emergency, call you if oil is low or low tire pressure, it will soon run
the in dash navigation... the possibilities are endless. Look for most
high priced cars to have bluetooth in the next few years.

with the creation of bluetooth cars will come bluetooth phones, pocket
    pc's, laptops...

in theory the lab results are getting similar results from bluetooth as
they are from wifi. you would never see a difference in the phone.

Now that they CAN'T sell her a T608. (They probably would like to, but
Sony-Ericsson cancelled cdma phone for all of North America.)

Not quite. Sony Ericsson stopped development of new CDMA phones, but
that won't affect the T608. The T608 is moving forward and will be sold
    by Sprint.

Oh ... not again! Phillippe ... Stop this! This is the 5th time you've
changed your ID, and the 6th ID you've used here ... still in less
    than 3 weeks.
