Could you clarify what the "select channels" will be?

Business solutions providers like bluemobility.com and direct from
Sprint (limited online/phone sales release).

Re: t608 Status
I went to a Sprint meeting with some senior tech managers on Wednesday
and they confirmed the T608 has been killed. They said there were way
too many dropped calls.

Nope, no one does, except for the rumors.
Here's what I suggest: assume, as I have, that the T608 is dead, and
move on. If it comes out, great! It'll be a pleasant surprise. If
not, no big deal. But I have found it pointless to get my hopes up on
speculation, rumors and claims from "reliable sources," all of which
have proven to be wrong thus far.
It's just a phone. There are many, many other phones out there, from
different carriers, to choose from. This one phone not coming out isn't
the end of the world.

Re: t608 Status
Is this true??? That would fly in the face of what I have been hearing
from Bluemobility.

Re: t608 Status
Bluetooth in a phone is an important feature for some of us. The
problem for myself and some others is that gsm /gprs service is either
unavailable or unreliable. The only carriers with decent coverage for
me are either Verizon or Sprint or assorted TDMA carriers (which don't
have decent data services). Since neither sprint nor verizon have
curent bluetooth phones, the T608 holds a lot of promise. If I knew
that another bluetooth enabled CDMA phone wsa to be released within the
next few months, it probably wouldn't matter. But since I am unaware
of releases for phones w/ bluetooth that will work for me other than
the 608, it will continue to be a big deal.

Just Thursday we were told: "Still on track to be available by end of month
beginning of next in
select channels only."
And Rob Vargas assured us it was on its way.
How can we now believe ANYTHING a Sprint person tells us?

Heh! If that were true, we'd never ever see a Samsung phone sold by
Sprint.

Re: t608 Status
I am sure people have considered this and it has been discussed before
(call me too lazy to use the search tool tonight).
But....
What happens when this limited supply of phones is depleted - and then
your precious 608 breaks? No problem, you've got equipment replacement
right?
So you take it back to the Sprint store and ask to swap it out.
Guess what - no more T608's anywhere. Ever again.
So, hopefully it can at least be repaired (unless you catastrophically
destroyed it).
Otherwise, I bet you get swapped out for another 'great' SPCS phone ;>
I have wanted a T608 since I first heard about them many, many months
ago, but I am thinking this is less and less a good idea, because, what
happens when it breaks?

That is a problem with all phones that stock are depleted after the
sales of the phone end. Sprint usually keeps a supply for this
purpose, and refurbishes phones for this reason as well.
After that, your left with eBay. But by the time that T608's become
that hard to get there should be more Bluetooth-enabled phones from
Sprint.
