Wrong.
People are under the False ASSumption that a "Tri Mode" fone will
first latch on to whatever compatible digital carrier is in the area,
(CDMA in the case of VZW/Sprint) & then find a local analog carrier.
FALSE! The fone has internal PRL software that decides what carriers
to use & not use, & in what order, & if VZW or Sprint does not include
a carrier in the PRL, you get No Service.
For Example, in the NYC/NJ areas, both Sprint (CDMA), & ATT
(Analog), are NOT in the VZW PRL for those areas. If you wander into
bad spot for verizon, you will see "no Service" on your fone, even
though you could be right under a tower that both Sprint & ATT are
using!!This applies to many areas of the country for ALL carriers.

We are not talking about Verizon Wireless and what they have in their
PRL. The point above was for SPCS, their roaming agreements, and their
PRL.

BTW, SPCS was in Verizon's PRL in many markets, till Verizon pulled
those SIDS out of future PRL versions, as Verizon had more users
roaming on SPCS (and incurring roaming expenses to Verizon), than on
their own towers.

The story is still VERY MUCH NEW, because it hasn't ended with a zeroed
