current calling plans suck

i had a buddy contact me a little while ago asking my opinion on what
current phone and calling plan to get from sprint, and looking at the plans
online they are absolutely horrible. for the first time ever i am going to
have to recommend he go to verizon or tmobile..... sad...

I was curious as to plan you would like to see--as I see them they are
about the same as always. The low end plans are and always have been
about .10 minute, and the high limit plans are always cheaper--this is
about the same with verizon--however, as you know, the prices are
usually better in the Christmas season which is coming up, but last year
the best low end plan was 300/$30, now it is $5 higher--there were some
great high limit plans ( which I wish I had signed up for).
Prices are usually raised just be fore the sale.

-the only sale that verizon had locally was 1000 local anytime/but no
N&W. the other rates have remained the same for a year.

Free and Clear America plans put Verizon's Single Rate Plans to shame.
To see them you have to go to a store or call Sprint as they tweek them
every 2 months or so. T-Mobile is a joke if they stray off the beaten
path at all and then they have no AMPS for emergency calls.

sprint phones are cheap for new customers. The camera phones are $99
and up, wheras verizon's digital only camera phone is $200 with a new 2
yr agreement!

I'm smiling at all the replies in this thread. New Guy only posts
once, and says he checks out SPCS's site, the rates suck, and will
recommend other providers.

What he doesn't say, is that kind of usage his friend needs, whether
it's just in a local area, or nationwide, mostly for N & W, ...
anything ... and he certainly doesn't mention any cross comparisons
either Verizon or TMobile.

Long story short, there's nothing provided here to confirm whether
SPCS's plans do "suck" compared to other providers ...

Why, Verizon plans are more expensive that Sprint PCS plans when you compare
apples to apples.

T-Mobile wins easily with the value of the dollar, but you miss important
features like analog roaming, road-side assistance, etc.

The current Verizon Free phones are old phones that Sprint rejected.
The A460, currently free, is much better. The A460 is 3G voice; has 2G
data, the others have none...
