    Ok - I have the Sanyo 4900 and a laptop/cable from Future Dial that I did
    use with the unlimited Vision plan (which I no longer have) while RVing. I
    am going to be making a short trip. Could I just use the Sanyo 4900 with
    the cable/laptop and use a dial-up ISP (instead of #777) to download my
    email to my laptop? I guess I should just try it and see if it works. Has
    anyone ever done this? If I do this I would use my unlimited minutes. I
    would not get charged for data usage - right? Thanks for any input. DonnaB

    Just remember two big things:

    1) No Dial Tone. You'll have to set whatever dialing option not to expect =
    a=20
    dial tone.

    2) 39=A2/min while you do it, and max speed of 14.4KBps (and you'll rarely =
    get=20
    that; usually significantly slower).

    That charge means it won't use your minutes. What happens is that both the=
    =20
    phone and our system recognize that dialing in as a circuit-switched data c=
    all,=20
    and as such will bill it as a Wireless Web call. Since a plan does not exi=
    st=20
    that covers this kind of usage with a Vision phone, you'll pay 39=A2/min wh=
    ile=20
    doing it, and it won't drain your voice minutes.

    Officially, this is against your Terms of Service. Unofficially, it works.
    Use at your own risk. It doesn't use your minutes. It uses your Vision plan.
    Since you don't have unlimited Vision anymore, you'll be charged per
    kilobyte.

    Oops, failed to see you don't want to use #777...sorry, none of this is
    valid.
