The signal-to-noise ratio in this group has taken a wicked turn in the last
30-45 days or so....
I used to look at it as a GREAT source of info with a occasional rant, or
personal opinion....
Now it has seemed to be flooded with snipes, personal barbs, 'pot shots',
'potty mouth', 'shoot the messenger', etc. etc.
Some people with KNOWLEDGE come to this group and share to the extent their
employment agreements probably allow them to, and yet the arrows fly!
In addition, people who have been around the cellular groups a while express
and opinion and that is also shot down!
Anyone interested in a 'YAHOOGROUPS' groups that would have these
requirements:
A. It would be MODERATED.
B. It would be restricted membership. Moderators would approve
membership.
C. Expectations would be that
1) No personal attacks
2) People would be respected.
3) The subject matter is SPRINT PCS, the systems, the phones,
the good, the bad, and the ugly and how to make it better!
D. Moderators would be free to boot violators from the group and/or
report them up to YAHOO if the offense violated their TOS.
Any interest?
But secondly, does anyone this we could make it fly?
This group has really be a GREAT SOURCE of info on SPRINT PCS......
Recent threads and contributors however are leading me towards hitting the
unsubscribe button!

I totally agree with you! It's very sad that the trolls have ruined this
group because a number of others have let them. I hardly ever post here
anymore because it has turned into nothing but garbage.

Re: Enough Already! - Anyone interested in a moderated group?
Right on, Larry.
We're seeing classical results of responding to trolls.
It's a mistake to feed them.
If it weren't for the replies, I wouldn't be seeing many offensive =
posts.
But in a non-answer to Joe, I wouldn't join a moderated SPCS group
unless I could see a history of useful posts in it. Chicken/Egg =
syndrome?

The nitpicking vaginas? The guys who have been around for a while so they
feel the need to nitpick new posters' posts? Those guys? Who the ****
cares?

Lots of us weren't trolls until the nitpicking vaginas started flapping

In case you were just tuning in, Phill, Justin, and Phillipe are three
moronic trolls that just lie and bash about people who are here to help
others.

Re: Enough Already! - Anyone interested in a moderated group?
I think this is a great idea (even though I do swipe at SPCS service ----
because it deserves it). The idea of a little moderation to these
discussions is not only needed, but would help us all stay on message. The
"Charter" might be kinda problematic --- but items like bickering and cuss
words could and should be dispatched to the person's PM area. Do you know if
there is support for a few permanent documents, such as FAQ's and the like?
If not I could "host" the files to help with the repetitive nature of some
of this stuff.
It's a grand idea ---- now how you going to break it to Smith that he'll be
a moderator <grin> (you'll need all your wisdom Bob) --- heck, him a few
others it could work out. I'd offer to be a moderator, but can't abuse my
vision service, don't cha know <GRIN>
I'll keep an eye out --- and if you need server space let me know, I'll set
it up.

Re: Enough Already! - Anyone interested in a moderated group?
I know these posts get followed from time to time. I was with another
outfit until it went over board. They ended up closing the entire site
down. It just came back up last week and all the trolls are gone. It's
good to learn again.
