Anyone know how to either fix a shattered 8100 screen or get the store
to replace it under warranty?

Nope, they won't replace it under warranty.

If you have the $4 insurance, you can get another one.

See if you can get the Equipment replacement program added, keep your
phone for a month and report it damaged, pay your $30 deductible. Most
people would charge you more to repair it than to buy a new one.

No cellular manufacturer conisders a screen a warrantable item.
~90% of the time they only break from abuse. Sprint will not help anyone.
Surely you learned that in training.
Costco, Macy's, Foleys, etc will do something for a customer.

And what do they use for a phone for a month?

Or if you didn't piss off the TSR (or ISS) at Sprint have them "Fry" the
phone (the TSRs are usually not appreciated at Sprint, give 'em $20 and
see what happens when they try to "Print out your Phonebook"). If they
make it not work, broken screen or not, they must replace it on the
spot. (usually with new equipment)

Sorry, the warranty is void whenever physical damage is found. It is
at the supervisor's discretion to accept or reject the replacement from
there.

Re: 8100 - shattered screen
Read the policy again, even IF there is Physical Damage, if the phone
was working when you received it (screen shatteered or not, if it will
make a call it works) then gets fried (will not make a call) then Sprint
will replace it. If you need a copy of the policy I am sure I can get
it.

No, the broken screen nullifies the warranty.

Re: 8100 - shattered screen
Read the M&P Carefully, even IF there is Physical Damage, if the phone
was working when you received it (screen shatteered or not, if it will
make a call it works) then gets fried (will not make a call) after you
****ed with it, then Sprint
will replace it. If you need a copy of the policy I am sure I can get
it.

Re: 8100 - shattered screen
I am aware, i was really looking for an inexpensive way to fix it. If I
buy a phone again it will be at costco.

We're not talking warranty, we're talking insurance at this point (yes,
we were originally talking about warranty) - and if I got a new phone and
the screen broke without me having done anything to break it, yes, Sprint
would replace the phone under warranty, because I wouldn't walk out the
door until they did. They can return defective phones to the manufacturer.
Of course, I don't know if customer abuse was involved - in which case, it
would be proper to NOT honor the warranty, but then I'd think if you had
insurance, you should still be able to get the replacement. But that's just
me... :P

What you're suggesting will get the tech fired.
The ONLY way to fry a phone is during a software update. Phonebook
printouts CAN NOT fry the phone, and neither can PRL updates.
So, you're suggesting that the tech suggest a software update on an
already unstable phone, which M&P state, since the phone is physicaly
damaged, we are NOT to update the software mainly because it is
"unstable".
So, the tech first violates M&P by attempting the software update, then
has the customer service rep create a fraudulent order for a (non)
warranty replacement, which the manager has to approve.
So, then the manager will notice that the tech violated M&P by doing
the software update on the phone, and will contact either his
operations manager or the loss prevention analyst or the regional
logistics team. An investigation will follow, resulting in serious
disciplinary action against the TSR, and possibly the manager.
