    Re: F&CA America Add On

I believe your response is correct; but after reading the question
about LD coverage and etc, this reminds me of what is probably the
reason for so many un pleasant situations with sprint and other
carriers... You can never assume what would make perfect sense (as in
this is what happened before, or on the plan I had when ever) You've
got to think is a suspicous way, and ask, ask, ask, and then you have
got to check, check, check, that what you have been assured is the
facts are indeed the facts, and that a such and such change has really
been made, credited, etc, to your account.

As another poster, asked, why not publish the details on the web. I
have a brochure somewhere(they must be very valuable, since they are so
difficult to find), but just because the original plan from June or
whenever included something, doesn't mean that it hasn't been changed,
etc. ( and because it is not published, who really knows) it really may
be published and I have missed it, but then there is that damn fine
print, at a very low contrast---You know, like the big print says
unlimited N&W or vision, the fine print seems to know more about what
the work unlimited means than Websters does---

So I am going to make another call to c/s to be sure what I have got for
$5, and also to be sure it has been added, like they said it would.

I was asking about the promotion expiration. Since I didn't want to sign
up with this addon just yet. Of all carriers sprint has been good about
    not forcing plan upgrades.

I just called and she didn't think it was so ... she checked her
computer and now I have F&CA as a $5 add-on as well. No contract
extension (I already had the F&C 500 minute plan with an add-a-phone
for $20 + $5 PCS-PCS). That is cool. Sprint will make money on this
as I rarely roam, but the times that I have roamed, I didn't use my
phone like I normally would because of the LD charges. That will be a
nice feature to not have to worry about

I was offered a 5% discount on my bill if I would sign a new one-year
agreement (I received the same offer in the mail). $4 or so per month
is not worth it to be locked in to a new contract. They need to do a
    little better there.

Oh, they did manage to get it hooked up on my plan. They had to take my add

the F&C. Then gave it to me on the first 2 lines for $5. A $7.50 increase

    Hey Kash76,

I was able to add this option (add-on) to my old $85 2000 shared plan. The
Sprint rep was able to find the info and was helpful in explaining the
    option.

My friend has the same $85 2000 shared plan and called to add the roaming
option today. The rep supposedly looked at my account (he gave her my phone
number) to find info on the option. She insisted that I had extended my
contract by 1 year to get this add on and that he would have to do the same.
At the time I had added the F&CA option, I had verified that my contract
would not be extended. I had to call Sprint after he told me this, and the
rep kindly explained that my contract had not been extended by an additional
year... Anyway, he was able to call again and they were more than willing
to add the $5 option and he was told there was no contract extension since
    he wasn't changing plans.

I don't believe there is a promotion expiration. If there was, they
would be posting an "*" by the text to say it would expire on a
certain date, as they have done with their promotion plans offered in
the past. Of course, I don't know for sure, but seeing what SPCS has
shown on the web sites in the past, since 98, I just get the
impression it's here to stay. Even if it isn't, it's something that
SPCS will honor on your account, if it ever does go away.

As to forced plan upgrades, SPCS doesn't do that ... Even on the
holiday promotional plans offered in the past.

The point here is, it's a good option to take, if you do more than
10 - 20 minutes of roaming a month, especially if some of those calls
are outgoing LD calls. IOW, if you find you are spending $5 or more a
    month in roaming changes.

Thanks for the reply John. They ended up doing it. The problem was with my
3rd phone which had the older $20 add a phone option. Once they changed it
to a $10 add a phone then they added the $5 option and vision for $7.50 so
it ended up costing 2.50 more on that line. No biggie, that's my Gma's line
and she can use the roaming a lot more when she goes up north to visit
    family.
