Anyone had any luck getting ESPN.com's palm applicatino to work on a Treo
300? (http://espn.go.com/wireless/s/index.html) I dont see any
restrictions on the supported Palm OS versions mentioned on the website.

Re: ESPN palm app on Treo 300
Palm phones are advertised as running "most palm apps". To make the phone
works, Palm overhead that some apps might want to use are reserved, and thus
not all apps run.

So is this one of those apps? Or is your comment a general one that might
or might not apply in this case?

What Palm devices is the ESPN app advertised to work on? If Treo 300 isn't on
the list, then it likely won't work, even if it works on another Palm phone.
We had a USELESS answer by A Sprint employee not long ago, "It works on a Treo,
try it on the Samsung". Programs only work on the devices they're designed to
work on. Extra effort needs to be expended for Palm phones.

Sorry, I hadn't looked at the description for the app. This one clearly
won't work on a Treo - it is specifically designed for the Palm VII or Palm
VIIx.
However, your answer is very thought-provoking. I'm considering purchasing
a Treo 600 to be used as an add-a- phone with my SprintPCS account. Doesn't
a Treo 600 look to Palm apps like a Palm OS5 device with a modem? Are there
apps that would work on a Tungsten W (that's Palm's device that talks to
AT&T GPRS) that wouldn't work on a Treo 600?

yes and no. If the application is written sprictly to Palm's (or Handsprings)
specifications then it should work. Sometimes however for performance reasons,
to work around OS bugs, or pure laziness a program may violate programming
rules, and thus not work on a slightly different machine - i.e. Treo 600;
Better buy from Handspring and get 30 days to check it out.

No I accurately stated the facts. Your off the wall analogies confusing
hardware with services has made you look like a blind apologist. And your
childish insistance in getting the last word in
even when you're wrong makes you an embarressment to Sprint.
You have never apologized to Justin for calling him a liar, when all he did was
tell of his ordeal with Sprint.

Here is what Vargas said that sent a user on a wild goose chase.
============================
I've been told that the "TC Ringer" application at
http://www.treocentral.com/content/Ringtones/index.htm
Will work on the I330. I don't own one, though, so I've never had the chance
to try it out.

Let's see him say that's inaccurate.
