You would be better served posting this to a Rhode Island area newsgroup so
that actual users can relay their experiences.

Best signal is only half the issue. It's also capacity.
If in a given area, a cellular company ahs more fiolks trying to use its
services than it can handle, it matters little whether you're covered or how
    strong the signal may be.

    Hey Paul,

In my experience it has been a tie between Sprint and Verizon. Even if
Sprint's main plans aren't perfect, their rates are better than Verizon's,
and you can always add PCS America to your plan ($5) for increased coverage
(free roaming up to 50% of plan minutes).

Weren't there a couple names with spurious dots at the end, too?
    And don't forget "Bernard Sharri".
    It's "Whack-A-Mole" time again.

I used to travel quite a bit in southern New England, and with
    SprintPCS coverage wasn't too bad along I95, I495, I93, and Rt84.

Coverage near RI was good in Providence / Pawtuckett, Newport, and
Mystic Ct (that isn't far from the border, right?).

As suggested before, check out local newsgroups, chatrooms and message
boards for the specific area you''re going to use the phone, along with
checking with co-workers, friends and family to get about as unbiast
    opinions as you can.

No need to be rude... there are idiots on this board, yes, but like
everywhere else in life you just have to ignore them and not sink to their
    level.
