....The treo 300 rather annoyingly has the earpiece serve double duty
as the speakerphone speaker. This means if you are not paying
attention you can easily blast your eardrum. Is this fixed on the
treo 600? Is the speakerphone perhaps in the base of the phone?
Thanks

Re: Speakerphone on the treo 600...
The specifications on SprintPCS web page says its has a full-duplex
Speakerphone built in, and no further details.

Re: Speakerphone on the treo 600...
The treo 600 has 2 "speakers" - the earpiece, and a 2nd on the Back of
the top half of the phone - used for ringers and playing my MP3s! -
Handspring gave me the Pocketunes software Free to play MP3s when I
registered the unit as per instructions for the accompanying CDROM

The speakerphone uses the speaker on the back of the phone. If you
hold it to your head (the normal way) the sound level is about the
same as with the spakerphone off, so no more blasting your ear off.
