Has anyone comparied the Tunsten W to the Treo 600 from handspring. I
need a phone for my wife and was thinking about the Tw.
I've had the T600 for two weeks now. This phone has been flawless for
    me.
I know that the board www.Treocentral.com Web site has some
complaints. But these are mostly application issues and when they
upgrade the apps all is well.

I can surf the web with good speed in fact I am posting from the T600
while getting my breaks done, the unit has not crashes on me once!
The phone integration to my phonebook is a feature I will not give
up. (cause you can searh by name or number and dial with one hand.)
The mini builtin keyboard is another feature I now can not live
without. You can take notes on the Palm software while on a call. I
use Bob's Alarm Clock which is very slick program Very Loud. Built in
camera is ok but this is a phone not a camera, It was nice to SMS a
rival the final score of the HS Football game and its neat to take a
picture of someone and attach it to there phone muber when they call.
My expansion port is loaded with music files (filled 128m in no time)
and I can play it over the headset or the speaker!

So are there beniffits the the Tw taht should make me look harder at
    that device.?

Looking at the specs, they are neck in neck except the Tungsten W has a
longer battery life. It is not supported by Sprint.

I just got the TREO 600 and it works well ... I gave up my IPAQ 3800+. It
was too clunky vs. the Treo and the integrated wireless is a great feature.

For starters, and this is major, the W is Palm OS 4.x and the 600 is Palm OS
    5.
If all you care is calendar and phonebook then either will work well. If
    you'd
like to utilize data services like a web browser on your phone, the 600 will
probably blow the W away. i.e. Less than 35Mhz processor compared to
over 100 Mhz processor alone will make a difference for browsing..

    Yes.

The dubya is more of a data device and not so much of a phone.

It's also GSM-only. I presume, because you post here, you want service from
SprintPCS? Well, the dubya won't work on SprintPCS, whereas the 600 comes
    in CDMA(SprintPCS) and GSM
    (ATTWS/Voicestream/Cingular/Rogers/Fido/overseas) versions.

That's nice. Howeve, neither the 600 nor the dubya have analog capability.
In the States, often there's analog coverage where ther's no digital, or no
    CDMA, coverage of any kind.

As a safety device, the Samsung SPH-i330 or i300, both available for
Sprint, are superior, because they do provide analog backup to digital
CDMA. The i330 will do 1xRTT (2.5G) data service, the i300 only CSD (2G),
and both are OS 3.5x PalmOS handhelds.

The Kyocera 7135 from Verizon's the best PalmPhone IMO, because it adds to
analog/digital/PCS the ability to use SD cards for memory, backup in the
field and add-on devices. It's only OS 4.1, but you can't have everything.
