firmware update

Is there a number i can dial to get a firmware update sent over the air, or
is it only by a data connection at the store.

firmware you have to get updated at the store, go to
http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/s...searchForm.jsp and you
should be able to locate store info for your area.

That technology isn't available yet. I seen something on phonescoop a while
ago saying Motorola and another company were working on it.

They're working on technology Citibank developed (and that may have
been stolen from earlier work) back in 1989 - updating running
firmware. It's not that difficult.

My $60 broadband Internet router does it. It's not rocket science at all.

If the device loads the firmware image into memory, then you update the CMOS
or wherever the firmware is stored, reboot the device, and bingo, you're
running the new firmware.

No reboot needed. The update firmware and the running firmware just
have to be isolated from each other. When a firmware routine is
called - after the update - it's the new routine. You just have to
maintain the jump table.
