They haven't died one bit, they are still being sold for boat/RV use (among
others), and verizon is pushing them for their voice/cell plans, but they
only seem to work on analog and won't work for data (or fax) The advertising
"claims" they work for digital, but my provider wouldn't activate it. If all
you need is voice, they are really cool, and with certain phones you can use
a headset with both the cordless phone AND with the cell phone, great for
walking around while talking (storeroom/roofs/kitchen etc, but be sure to
get a headset with a mute button if you use it in the bathroom!)
