#4 | | Guest | Thanks Al Klein. Maybe it's where I would get free music, movies, etc.
I would like to find the same free services that other cell phone
providers have. But thanks for your response anyway. Prick

#5 | | Guest | I just switched from Sprint to Verizon and now have the LG VX6000
phone, which I love. When I went to figure out how to get new
ringtones, I could only figure out to use the GET IT NOW service. I
had no idea before getting Verizon that I'd have to pay PER ringtone
for those!
What Verizon doesn't seem to publicize anywhere I looked was that you
can just e-mail MIDI files to the phone and not have to buy ringtones.
Gee - I wonder why they don't publicize that. This GET IT NOW service
seems to be quite the money-making scam... but anyways... Here is a
great place for free MIDI files meant as ringtones: http://frankstorck.nl/ringtones/

#6 | | Guest | There are apparently a couple phones that you can do this but for the
most part, Verizon phones can only get ringtones via GetItNow, which
costs $$. Nothing is free with Verizon .

I got the OEM Kyocera data kit for my 2325. Kyocera's own software allows
you to download ringtones, and I purchased an $18 piece of software that
allows you to convert between ringtone formats so that I can, for example,
download any of the Nokia/Motorola ringtones that are available for free,
convert it and push it up to the phone. That's how I got Inspector Gadget on
my phone.

#8 | | Guest | al, verizon does not allow you access any 3rd party content right?
are any verizon folks using cables to get ringers to thier phones?
xingtone is working on support for verizon users right now but, could
use some beta testers with cables, or soon IR and bluetooth.

#10 | | Guest | I think you can purchase USB cables for verizon phones and download to your
phone directory using bitpim or gagin. You can also find loads of info from
yahoo groups.
