Hello Everyone,
Verizon is indicating that I made "411" calls from my cellular phone.
I'm being billed for these calls. I've had the phone since July. It is a
Kyocera 2325.
Verizon claims that the "411" calls that I am being billed for are calls
made by my phone. And that they can NOT come from anyone but my phone.
But, I haven't called "411" in about ten years. Not on my land line.
Definitely not on this cell phone. No one but me has had possession of
this phone. Therefore it wasn't another person "borrowing" my phone for
"411" calls. I also use "KeyGuard" so if I put it in my pocket no input
is accepted.
Verizon wants me to deal with it. They want me to take the phone in for
service so that the technician can determine whether or not "I" made the
phone calls.
Does anyone have any advice? Something I can use in my defense besides
my
word. Because, my word isn't good enough for Verizon Wireless.
Thank you.
Brian Z.

Are you calling 1-800-tell-me?
If you are they try to bill for this.

I had to fight about this. It's a bull**** charge. I got it reversed in
the Ohio market with the help of a CSR from the Columbus call center that
used to post here.
Which part of the country are you in?

What does your bill say? (i.e. what number does it show you calling, that
you're being billed for - 411 or something else?)

Re: Is my Kyocera 2325 making 411 calls?
Hi
I have my Verizon bill.
For "Call Origination+" it indicates "Home Area".
The "Called Phone Number" is "000-000-0411".
The "Call Destination" is "411ConnectNY".
The "Usage Type" is "A".
The "Home Airtime Charges" is "Included".
The "Other Call Type" is filled in with "LL" .
The charges are $1.25 per call and there were ten calls to "411" and
all lasting 1 minute.
Thank you for your time.

Odd. Brian, I'm afraid I don't have an answer for you and I wish you continued
luck in your effort to get this stuff removed.

Standard "boilerplate" text I found several places on the web, like here...
http://www.mobileline.com/protect/no...icaschoice.pdf
411 ConnectSM
Directory assistance with automatic call completion.
$1.25 per call plus airtime charges. Only available
for listings in the U.S.
2 When a call is connected, home airtime, taxes and any applicable
longdistance charges will apply. Per-call charge for 411 Connect may vary
on the Extended Network and while roaming.
411 Connect is $1.25 per call plus airtime. One- or two year agreement per
line required. $35 activation fee per line on one-year agreements. $175
early termination fee per
line applies. To get Home Airtime Rates, calls must be placed within
designated Home Airtime Rate and Coverage Area and on a preferred carrier
as defined by the pre-
ferred roam list. Taxes, tolls & surcharges, such as E911 and gross
receipts charges (which vary by market), apply in addition to airtime and
monthly access. Federal
Universal Service Charge of 1.90%, (varies quarterly based on FCC rate) and
a 5¢ Regulatory Charge per line/month are our charges, not taxes. Long
distance and roam-
ing rates for international calls (where available) will vary. Requires a
CDMA tri-mode or all-digital phone with specific software and preferred
roam list as programmed by
Verizon Wireless. Digital service, features and promotions are not
available in all areas, may not follow you across the entire North
America’s Choice Home Airtime Rate
and Coverage Area and may be limited to the Verizon Wireless digital
network. Good payment history of 90 days required. New customers or
customers with less than 90
days of service are subject to additional credit approval. Calling plans
are not available in all areas. Night & Weekend Minutes are a promotional
limited time offer. Plans
are not eligible for corporate discounts. Night hours are 9:01 PM—5:59 AM,
Monday--Friday. Weekend hours are 12:00 AM, Saturday—11:59 PM, Sunday.
