PC3220 card Install issue on Windows XP

I have installed my PC3220 card on a WIn2K laptop and it works fine,
but I can't get my WinXP laptop to recognize the card using the same
installer.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Re: PC3220 card Install issue on Windows XP

YES......Do NOT install the compression software until you install the
drivers for the card first. The Venturi software screws up the installation
for some odd reason.
Uninstall BOTH programs, remove the PC-3220 card and reboot. turn off any
virus programs (Especially Zonealarm) and install ONLY the PC-3220 drivers.
Power down the XP laptop and reboot.start the PC-3220 program and install
the card when prompted. Once you have the card working, end the session and
install the compression software. Reboot and start the card. Look for the
little "Whirlwind" symbol to appear on the task bar.
For what its worth, the PC-5220 card and software is MUCH more stable and
easy to install and does not use the Venturi compression at all....Eddie

I followed your instructions and still have the same problem: "USB
Device Not Recognized".
The unknown device is located ubder USB Root Hub.
The PC-3220 interface will not allow me to power on the card.

Re: PC3220 card Install issue on Windows XP

If you have a DELL P4 laptop you're going to have to get a different
card. The PC3220 WILL NOT work with DELL P4 laptops.

It is in fact a Dell P4 laptop. Is there documentation somewhere about
this issue that you've seen?

Re: PC3220 card Install issue on Windows XP

The only documentation I have is the email that was sent to me by the
tech we were dealing with.
