Changing rate plans

I was on the America Choice 300 plan and I switched to the 500 plan. I have
a LG 4400 phone with software version 8. When I called to have my rate plan
changed I was told to do *228 option 1 to reprogram my phone for the new
rate plan. I did that and I did not see any difference in the PRL and ERI.
Are those suppose to change when you get a new rate plan? My current PRL is
50113 and the ERI is 50018. Is this what I am suppose to have on the America
Choice 500 plan?

All you did was increase your minutes, right? If so, you stayed on an
AC plan, so your PRL and ERI shouldn't change just because you went up
to the next tier. VZW often makes it a point to tell everyone to do a
*228, even when there's no point in doing so.

It doesn't hurt to do a *228. Depending on the plan change it may be
necessary or not. If you simply tell everyone to do a *228 for every
plan change you're covered.

Or when there's a reason to NOT do it.
