Inaccurate Time for Data Calls

Has anyone noticed that their data calls (#777 calls) have the time of
the call reported on their bill as the time it is in your home area
and not the time from where the call originated? I live in Nevada
(702) and I have noticed that when I travel to the east coast and use
the Express Network, the time of the call that is reported on the bill
is not the local, east coast time but the time in Nevada, pacific time
(3 hours difference).

The problem with this, of course, is that if I'm making the connection
after 9pm when the call is airtime free, the call is actually being
charged as peak time usage since pacific time is three hours earlier.

Just curious if anyone else has experienced this.

-Frank

Frank, read your contract. Your time is governed by your phone number not
your location.

that's incorrect. Your time (and whether you are prime or non prime) is
governed by where you are, and what the time is on the local tower, but the
times on the bill are usually translated to your billing time zone.

Your rate plan says what hours are off-peak, but using the local time on
the cell site which handles the call. Which conveniently on CDMA phones,
is also what your phone shows. So if your off-peak begins at 9:01pm,
and you are on the East Coast and making a call at 9:15pm Eastern time,
then you are off-peak, even if your number is based in California.
