The Dr offers: Yes, there is a military clause for those on active duty (and
thank you for doing what you do).
As I understand it, you may cancel your contract without penalty IF you
receive orders that make you move to an area where you can't/won't use the
service. You will have to fax a copy of those orders to Verizon to complete
the cancellation. And "yes", you may black out any information that you
deem confidential or secure. This is what I've been told.
The key word is "active duty". This is not an option to cancel for
convenience. Go to the source: call Verizon CS, ask the specific question,
and get their answer noted into your account. While I have my opinions and
experience, it is only Verizon that can release you early and without
penalty from a Verizon contract.
