I'm very happy with my v60s, which I've had since early February. I
use it for voice communications and limited text messaging. Nothing
more. If that's all you're looking for, this is a great phone.
RF performance is very good, even with the stubby antenna. Earpiece
volume, at maximum setting, is loud, compared to other models.
Speakerphone volume is also loud, but not as loud as Nextel's
iDen
phones. It is sufficiently load to be able to use in a car at freeway
speed, although not for lengthy, comfortable conversations.
The battery life is ok, but nothing to write home about. Typical
Motorola. I charge my phone every night, which gets me through a full
day with about 2 hours worth of talk time.
The display, as with any v60 model, sucks. Backlighting is crappy,
compared certain other phones, like Nokia, etc. Font is too small on
the small setting. (There's two sizes). The larger font is somewhat
fuzzy and you lose characters on certain displays, such as the address
book. But it's useable.
If you're looking for other features and capabilities, this phone is
limited and may not provide the solution you're seeking. But for
voice call purposes, it is sturdy, attractive, reliable, has excellent
audio quality (both receive and transmit), and boasts a good-quality,
useable speakerphone.
