#1 | | Guest | Hello all,
I have found that my Samsung a530 has made calls to 911 a couple of
times now...
The first time I was at work, had it in a case on my belt. I got an
incoming call and I answered. The woman on the other line said that it
was Ottawa county 911 and said they got a hang up call from my phone. I
apologized and they said it was all right.
I thought this was odd, since my phone is a flip phone, and shouldn't be
able to make a call with the flip closed....
....anyway...a few days later, the phone was on my coffee table in the
basement (in its case, flip closed), and I was upstairs when it rang.
It rang numerous times (10 or so), and didn't seem to go to voicemail.
I didn't get to it in time though, and when I looked at the missed
calls, I recognized the number as the same one that had called earlier.
I was worried that cops would be at my door in a few minutes to
investigate, so I called the number back, and got no answer after
numerous rings. I don't think that there is any way the phone could
have called again, since it was closed, and didn't show any outgoing
calls to 911 (ever).
Has anyone seen or heard of this before?
Thanks in advance,
Jeff

Did you look at your recent outgoing calls? Once you get your bill,
see if there's a call listed to 911. CID spoofing is quite easy on a
T1 or similar line, but for a person to spoof your # and then call a 7
digit PSAP is a stretch....
