#1 | | Guest | I have Cingular's prepaid service in Illinois and recently found out by
calling *611 that effective 9/1/04 a new $.75 fee will be applied to the
account each month.
Does Verizon apply the same charge to its prepaid subscribers? Is this
common practice for prepaid services in other states or is it a new
"benefit" of living in Illinois? TIA

I can't speak to FreeUp, but my postpaid VZW bill in Illinois, dated Aug.
18 (thanks for reminding me I have to pay it next week, btw) has a charge
of $.75 for IL E911, but I just checked my July bill and it had the same.

Nothing. On my bill, it is put in the "taxes, governmental surcharges and
fees" section; including this .75, that section totals $5.80. Then there
are the Verizon surcharges, another .96.
