CA-42 Data Cable, DKU-5 cable, DKU-2 Cable

I plan to own a Nokia 6015i phone on the Verizon system soon.

Can anyone explain the uses of the 3 data cables (in subject line)
listed under the phone (Nokia 6015i) of Nokia's web site??

I use the DKU-5 with the 6015i for data transfer between PC and phone.
I have also experimented successfully (but have not seriously used) the
6015i and a laptop for incoming/outgoing fax and for dialup data.

Where did get your DKU-5 cable? And when you use the term "data
transfer", does that include EMAIL??

"Data transfer" means precisely that -- no more, no less -- the moving
of data between the computer and the phone, having nothing to do with
e-mail.

I purchased the DKU-5 from some vendor on eBay, name nor forgotten.

Your original post stated;

*............I have also experimented successfully (but have not
seriously used) the
6015i and a laptop for incoming/outgoing fax and for dialup data.*

It was the incoming/outgoing fax/dialup data I was referring to. You
mentioned that you *experimented successfully* and I assumed that dialup
data was email.

My concern is "will the 6015i work, tethered to a laptop for email, and
if so, the source of the cable. One vendor who sells the Nokia cable
package stated that the DKU will only allow transfer of data (pictures,
ring tones, etc) and not work with NationalAccess.

If your cable worked in your "experiment" for email, then I'm confident
that the phone will work.

Thanks for your patience.

Not necessarily so. My experimentation involved only incoming/outgoing
fax and dialing into a terminal server for a few minutes. I can't speak
to National Access, one way or the other.
