Not only could you not use them at the same time, they could not both
be active at the same time. You would have to contact your service
provider to switch phones each time you wanted to activate the other
phone.

"Active" means the vzw system can recognize the phone based on its
internally sent id. ONE only is how it works. Its not when you use the
phone - its if the vzq network has been informed as toe the status of te
phone. Note Danny's comment in another post "Actually with verizon you
can switch phones on the website under my account."

Ok, thanks for the info everyone. I got off my lazy but and looked it up on
the verizon website. I'll paste the info here for any googlers:

a.. Does Verizon Wireless offer extension phones?

We have thoroughly weighed the costs against the benefits of offering this
feature. We have made the decision not to offer the capability to use two
wireless phones with one wireless phone number. The current wireless system
we use identifies the wireless phone's Electronic Serial Number (ESN) and
matches the ESN with the wireless phone number. This process is integral to
our system as it helps protect against wireless phone misuse and fraud.
