2 LG VX6100s - full duplex problem

My girlfriend and I each have a new LG VX6100. The problem is that
whenever she speaks or makes any sounds on her end, she doesn't receive
any sound from my end. We've done tests where we both talk at the same
time and she hears absolutely nothing that I say. I on the other hand
can hear both conversations simultaneously with no problems.

Any ideas if this is the phone, and if so, which phone, or Verizon
service, or what?

Thanks,
Mark

Or ... you two could practice some phone etiquette. Stop being rude by
talking over each other. Calm down.

That aside, I've noticed a similar phenomenon when talking to people having
AT&T, T-Mobile, or Cingular.

It's not about etiquette. With an approximately half second delay over
the cell connection, not to mention that this happens even when she so
much as breathes into her side of the phone, it's difficult to avoid.

If it was the service, then you would have the same symptom. My guess
is that her phone is defective.

Be a good boyfriend and switch phones with her, and then you can take care
of the problem

That's strange. Normally, it's the boyfriend/husband who doesn't hear
anything the girlfriend/wife says! ;-)

Also consider the possibility that it's your phone not transmitting voice
when it's receiving.

See if the phones have a setting called "Auto Volume". It's in Settings,
Call Setup on my wife's VX4500. I'm not sure what it does, but try
turning that setting off.

Me and my girlfriend are having the same problem with our LG VX6100 phones.
We tried setting up each phone identify, that is coordinate our setup menus
and still have the problem. Our next test will be to swap phones. I have
no problem receiving her but she frequently dose have trouble hearing me.
Silly as it sound, I wonder if gender is playing into this. The her voice
spectrum is different than mine, as it is between most men and woman. Could
that be playing into this?

Heh, as I was writing my initial post, I was trying hard to avoid double
entendre, but I think there was just no way around it

Yes! That did it. I had recently enabled that feature on my phone.
Very strange that doing so would cause this but I'm just happy it's
fixed. Thanks for the great tip.
