Actually I just called Verizons Customer service, said our old phone
went shot, and I was going to use an older phone i had. When i supplied
them the
ESN, it didnt show up on their computers as to what kind of
phone i had. When asked how old it was a said a few years...lol.. So
after that i went ahead and programmed it manually, and got it to work.
Now, when i called texh support and told them my phone wouldnt ring,
she asked what kind of phone was on the account because she couldnt
figure out what kind. I made the mistake of telling her, and she got a
little angry..lol She said that if thats analog only i need to go to a
VZW store NOW and change it, and it should have NEVER been activated.
Quickly I said oh its a tri-mode and hung up... :-P
Now as for my issue with the phone ringing... I GOT IT!!!! :-)
All i had to do was call and have VZW remove the caller id from my
Americas Choice plan, since my AMPS phone doesnt have caller id, when
the network would try to send the caller id info, itd flip and bounce
to voice mail.
Looks like i can now enjoy the power of analog on my Verizon Account.
Good Luck to those who try to get their Analogs activated with Verizon.
I have to say, it's sad, but Analog beats the crap out of verizons
digital in NW Indiana.
