Priorities, where are your priorities??

Damned if I know why Verizon doesn't have a Nextel-like Motorola phone in
their lineup.

Can't remember the model, but Nextel has an all-black (they make a yellow
one too) rubberized kind of Moto flip-phone that feels like it's
brick-solid. The flip hinge feels like a bank vault door, positive spring
load, nice large display. This thing feels like you could throw it at a
moving bus and it would bounce back. Every time I see someone with one of
those, I'm jealous.

VZW could spec one out, shrink the size by 20% or so (or not), and have a
real winner on their hands.

Because their priorities are in making more money for them, not
selling a phone that actually works and lasts for several years.

They want to sell phones that have cameras, allow you to surf the web,
download ringtones, and soon to watch full motion video.

They want to sell you slick looking phones that will crap out in a
year and make you buy another phone.

Gone are the days where you can buy a phone and all it did was allowed
you to make and receive voice calls only. They don't make money that
way. They want you to text message, download from THEIR proprietary
service (Get It Now) and other things where the profit margins are
very high.

So does that answer your question?

Dave

I was meant to be somewhat sarcastic, but you can see where Verizon
has its priorities, or lack thereof.

I know, Dave. Funny (sad) thing is you're probably 100% correct.

Re: Priorities, where are your priorities??

I have to agree, been with VZW for a year and I'm on phone # 3, just ported
my one of my numbers to Nextel. I don't need web, PDA, or GIN, I just want
a sturdy phone, not a toy.
