Can port # if buying new VZW phone+svc from Amazon?

I have Sprint now. If I buy a new Verizon phone+service from Amazon
will I be able to port my existing Sprint # to it? On Amazon there is
a page that details activation, including this for "existing" service
that might allow this but not sure if that's only for existing Verizon
service or if it includes porting:

to charge your phone's battery.
2.. Keep your new phone, packing slip, and Verizon Wireless phone
box handy.
3.. Using another phone, such as your regular home phone, call
Verizon Wireless at 1-800-922-0204.
4.. The customer service representative will ask you for the
information printed on the packing slip and a few other details to
confirm your identity.
5.. Now you're ready to start using your new Verizon Wireless phone.

Yes,

You will still have your old phone number but you will have Verizon
service, not Sprint.
